About Us

Felting was introduced to Nepal in 1980s- 1990s by NGOs, international development organizations, and local entrepreneurs aiming to create employment opportunities for women. Using wet-felting techniques adapted for export production, felting has since grown into a thriving industry that supports many women artisans across Nepal.

At Aloki, we work with a range of suppliers and artisan groups throughout Nepal to create fun, playful designs while supporting local craftsmanship. Each piece is carefully handmade in small batches from 100% wool, helping minimize waste and promote sustainable production. Handmade means, no two pieces are ever exactly alike, and that’s what makes them truly unique.
